At its core, the series uses a custom masking algorithm to cut out shapes from algorithmically produced papers, which are then arranged throughout the canvas. It is programmed in Javascript.\n\nMuch like the practice of collage itself, *Off Script* elicits a deeply sensorial experience. Generative textures induce a sense of tactility, while askew jagged shapes evoke the punctuated off-beat sounds of jazz. With its synesthetic qualities, the series challenges its own medium, creating a dialogue between the immateriality of digital representation and the corporality of the physical realm. \n\n*Off Script*'s visual language references various 20th century modern art movements that similarly emphasized medium and material through distilled expressions of shape, color, and composition.","script_type":"p5@1.0.0","project_id":"10","collection_uuid":"987dad31-89f2-4c40-914c-a7f3516f1ba8","engine_type":"fullyonchain","image":"https://media-proxy.artblocks.io/1/0x0a1bbd57033f57e7b6743621b79fcb9eb2ce3676/10000053.png","preview_asset_url":"https://media-proxy.artblocks.io/1/0x0a1bbd57033f57e7b6743621b79fcb9eb2ce3676/10000053.png","generator_url":"https://generator.artblocks.io/1/0x0a1bbd57033f57e7b6743621b79fcb9eb2ce3676/10000053","royaltyInfo":{"artistAddress":"0x9f4633b29e89e10c869c8ce2197c63df06eb5355","additionalPayee":"0x0000000000000000000000000000000000000000","additionalPayeePercentage":0,"royaltyFeeByID":5},"collection_name":"Off Script by Emily Xie","collection_owner":"0x9f4633b29e89e10c869c8ce2197c63df06eb5355","website":"https://xie-emily.com/","token_hash":"0x1f1ea6e6aa9133132793ed79ea3ec88c6b0ae35666e8991c0252462f6ce6194e","external_url":"https://generator.artblocks.io/0x0a1bbd57033f57e7b6743621b79fcb9eb2ce3676/10000053","primary_asset_url":"https://media-proxy.artblocks.io/1/0x0a1bbd57033f57e7b6743621b79fcb9eb2ce3676/10000053.png","features":{"Density":"Full","Motif 1":"Strips","Motif 2":"Circles","Palette":"Wallflower","Jaggedness":"Moderate","Pencil Marks":"Yes","Paper Placement":"Default"},"traits":[{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"All Off Scripts"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Density: Full"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Motif 1: Strips"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Motif 2: Circles"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Palette: Wallflower"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Jaggedness: Moderate"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Pencil Marks: Yes"},{"trait_type":"Off Script","value":"Paper Placement: Default"}],"is_static":true,"license":"CC BY-NC 4.0","authenticity_signature":"0x478e6746bb4a9fca2b7ea97f5ee674ffbdafeb2cdabfa41e6042c2f072d68ae520b8599a05cbd1c3873a0c712c0411f573eed7f5d5a029947bf637515752231a1b"}
